The Plot Twist That Saved My Life (And It Had Nothing to Do With My Body)

There was a time when I cringed at ANY photo of me. I tore myself apart and hated what I saw. That version of me would only see my stomach, double chin, or my tree-trunk legs.

But that version of me would have completely missed the plot.

The plot:

• I faced my fear of flying and got on a plane

• I have a beautiful family and amazing friends worth flying across the country for

• We’re making new friends and teaching our son how to explore

• I have the love of a GOOD man (he’s fine too) 😍

• We’re deepening bonds and expanding as people

And none of that has anything to do with my body. NONE of that is on the minds of people who love me and will cherish these images.

If anyone WAS thinking something as they watched me strut down those New York streets, it’s NONE OF MY BUSINESS! It probably sounded more like “They look like they’re having fun” or “I wish I could do that.”

And even if it was something negative? Why would I let that possibility stop me from showing up for the people who show up for me?

When I lost my mom, I lost most of my family with her. I was living in a world so dark I couldn’t see my way out. Then my bestie showed up on my doorstep from New York, rolled up her sleeves, and knocked a skylight into my darkness. She saved my life.

This trip? It was my turn to show up and learn her world.

I never thought I’d make it to New York because of my fear of flying, but love gave me the reason I needed to push my boundaries. Love made me brave.

I tell my clients to live a big beautiful life despite that critical inner voice shouting at you all the time. I say it because I have one too, and she’s LOUD! So, I wanted to show you I don’t just say it…I LIVE it.

Stop letting your body image get in the way of living a big, beautiful life filled with the people who matter and the adventures that await. Now I have incredible experiences and unforgettable photos to remember it all.
