She’s Back (and Braver Than Ever) 🌈✈️

Aloha, from Fear to Freedom

Hey friend,

Aloha!! We’re back from Hawaii and my heart is STILL overflowing with gratitude. This trip changed me in ways I didn’t expect—but before I get into that, I have to share something really personal with you.

I did something that’s been 7 years in the making.

I got on a plane.
And not just any flight—one to Hawaii. 🌺

If you know me, you know I have a massive fear of flying. I’m talking heart-racing, can’t-sleep-for-weeks, intrusive-thoughts, full-blown panic attacks kind of fear. Before this trip, I hadn’t flown in 7 years—and before that, it had been 10.

But earlier this year, I put “travel” on my vision board. I wrote it down not knowing how, or even if, it would happen. Then the wildest thing occurred: I was asked to photograph a family in Hawaii. And the invitation came right after a therapy session where I felt a little braver than usual.

So, I booked the flight. I said yes.
Even before I fully believed I could do it.

A friend stayed on video chat with me while I booked it—there are even photos of me in total disbelief as I did it. (Yes, I cried.)

The client session ended up falling through, but instead of canceling the trip, I chose to make it about something even bigger. I made it about intention. About my family. About facing my fears and showing our son that we can do hard things.

And we did.

🌊 We swam with sea turtles
🍽️ We ate all the delicious food
🌿 We made new friends on the island
🌧️ And my favorite? A sound bath in a cloud forest—yes, a literal cloud forest, filled with rain droplets, singing birds, coqui frogs, and crystal bowls. It was like the Earth was singing just for us.

As I lay there, I whispered to myself:
“We did it, Morgen.”

In that moment, the old voices—the ones that said I was too much, too selfish, too harsh—they faded.
And the voice that knew I was kind, creative, generous, and brave… got louder.

Here’s what I took home from this trip:

1. Discomfort is where the good stuff lives.
   This trip stretched me, but the memories are forever.
2. Not everyone will be happy for you.
   Some people close to you won’t be able to stomach your shine. Shine anyway.
3. Believe in yourself, wildly.
   My skill called me to Hawaii. This business I’ve almost quit more than once? It’s still creating magic. And so am I.

I came home changed. The dreamer inside me? She’s awake again.
And guess what?

👀 She’s going to New York this September!
